Definitely my best apartment experience in Madison in my 5 years living here. I’m honestly shocked at the one star reviews, considering I’ve had some 1-star apartment experiences in Madison, and this was far from it! With all of the amenities, Nexus is a very good place at a much more affordable price than most luxury apartments in Madison. The staff are ALL really friendly & communicable, and the building is super safe and secure. They take maintenance seriously as well. I only had to have maintenance come in once or twice, but they were super quick to fix things.

The apartments may be beautiful, but the management experience completely overshadows that. I was originally told I would be signing a 12-month lease, only to receive a 9-month lease when the paperwork arrived. I was later told they don’t like doing 12-month leases because it’s harder to rent units during the winter. While that’s understandable from a business standpoint, it should have been communicated upfront instead of after the fact. My move-in experience was wonderful thanks to the employee who assisted me at the time. She was kind, professional, and genuinely cared about residents.

I don’t usually post reviews, but this experience needs to be shared, especially for other parents and students looking for housing. The communication I received during the application process was disappointing. The tone came across as dismissive and, at times, demeaning. As a parent and co-signer trying to support my daughter, I expected clear, respectful, and professional communication, and that simply wasn’t the case. There seemed to be confusion around application timelines and apartment availability that should have been communicated upfront, not after we had already started the process.
